Acclaimed cellist, Naomi Gee Wright is a profoundly unique artist. She trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the Eastman School in Rochester, NY and has since been enjoying a career as soloist, collaborator, improviser and composer. Naomi transcends genres.
As a soloist and ensemble player, Naomi has appeared on the world's largest stages. She has worked and recorded with a wide-ranging mix of artists, from Björk and Terence Blanchard to Oud player Attab Haddad, and performed as a duo with Jaqueline du Pré's pianist, Michael Dussek.
As a composer and band leader, Naomi is the founder of the Naomi Gee Wright Band, a trio of cello, tabla and voice based in improvisation, which performs Naomi's original compositions.
Naomi's critically-acclaimed debut CD, Anima Rising, is available from ASC Records. Her latest album, Meteor Trail, was released by Oti-O records in October 2024.
Naomi plays on a John Dilworth Cello.
